Volunteering for People who Speak English as a Second Language
The project is aimed at providing people who speak English as Second Language with volunteering opportunities. It came about when we spoke to local students with English as a Second Language, and they told us that they did not often have the chance to practice their English, and also that they would welcome the opportunity to volunteer and gain experience working with a charity – in particular health and social care experience. Volunteers from this project are able to assist in any of our groups, or in our office in administrative or events roles.
The project is funded by the Department of Health, through BASSAC.
