London Virgin Marathon 2012

Time and Talents is based on the Marathon route near Mile 13 and the centre will be open on Marathon Sunday morning - 22nd April.

 If you would care to join us helping cheer our runners as they pass and at the same time learn about the projects at Time and Talents we would be delighted to see you.

Gift Fair

The annual Time and Talents Gift Fair will be held on Monday, 5th November 2012 at the Hurlingham Club, SW6.
 
The Gift Fair committee meets regularly to review stall applications. If you wish to apply please email details of your product range to tandtgiftfair@hotmail.co.uk.   Please do not ring the Time and Talents office as the fair is organised by an external committee.

Director

Dinah Cox OBE

Dinah studied social policy at South Bank University and the London School of Economics and has over twelve years’ experience in influencing, developing and funding social policy. This has included employment as a chief executive working on equality issues and a grant maker. She also worked for the Labour and Coalition Governments as a Senior Policy Advisor. Before her policy-related roles Dinah worked in a number of organisations providing services for homeless people. She is a board member of the Wembley National Stadium Trust and the Chair of BBC Children in Need’s London and South East Committee as well as a trustee for GAG – a youth-focused social enterprise set up to address the impact of gangs on girls.

Ann Clayton

Ann grew up in Southwark and was educated at Charles Dickens Primary School, St Saviour’s and St Olave’s Grammar School and Southwark Polytechnic.  Her early working life was spent in Human Resources working for large accountancy practices and software companies before a change of career which led to housing management in both the private and social housing sectors. She joined Time and Talents in December 2007 initially as the Co-ordinator for the Canada Water Consultative Forum, a post which she held for over 2 years and also held the post of Interim Manager for 10 months.  She has been the senior capacity builder for the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Development Partnership since July 2009.

Ann is a  Founder Member and First Past President of the Rotary Club of Surray Quays and Thomas Cure Warden and Vice President  for United St Saviour’s, a North Southwark Charity.

Youth Projects Manager

Claire Sexton
 
Claire joined Time and Talents as a volunteer when she was 16. She became a staff member in 2008. She worked with a number of organisations in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe while studying Theatre Studies at London Metroplition University. After graduating in 2007 Claire has worked with young people providing opportunities for them to make positive contributions to their community and reach their full potential. Claire is currently our Youth Project Manager and studying Informal Education and Community Learning and Development at YMCA George Williams College funded by the Rank Foundation.

Mbuyisa  joined Time and Talents in September 2008, He previously worked for a number of organisations including Age Concern as resident art tutor, Workers Educational Association as an art tutor and Excel Care homes as an Activities Co-ordinator. Mbuyisa is also a practising Visual Artist. 
 
 

ESOL Volunteer Co-ordinator

Patricia Joined Time and Talents in July 2010 and works on the ESOL Volunteering project recruiting students with English as a second language to support our various groups.
 
 

Neighbourhood Care Co-ordinator and Minibus Escort

Lisa Scott joined Time and Talents in April 2010 from a background working in sheltered housing.  Lisa has recently extended her role to Neighbourhood Care Co-ordinator working on our befriending service project as well as continuing her Minibus escort role.
 
 

Young Mums Group Co-ordinator

Gemma started off as a volunteer in 2006 working with the older groups helping out and doing the minibus. Gemma has studied at BEC and has a NVQL1-2 in Childcare. She was offered the opportunity to work with Carla Williams in the Young Mums group and has been the Lead worker since 2010.

Carla originally set up the Young Mums Group through a Youth Opportunities Grant. She has supported the project since it began and now helps to run the group every week.
 
 

Outreach and Community Youth Worker

Sylvan Williams

Spent three years teaching Music Technology to 14 – 16 year olds, now part of the Amazing Youth Team at Time and Talents working as the Outreach and Community Youth Worker. As part of the youth team, Sylvan helps facilitate the 8 -12 and 13+ Youth Club. Whilst working as the Outreach and Community Youth Worker he helps bring the great work done in the youth clubs out to Young People on the street of Rotherhithe.
 

Educational and Mentor Youth Worker

Louise Garlick
 
Louise joined Time and Talents in May 2011 as a volunteer for the youth club. She became a staff member the following August as the lead worker on the youth team’s educational project Discover. In Discover Louise works with young people aged between 8-17 years, allowing them to plan and participate in their own choice of projects, in the aim of receiving recognised qualifications.
 

Mini Bus Driver 

Paul Rulton
 
Paul joined Time and Talents in June 2009 after many years as a wholesale florist at Covent Garden at Vauxhall, and now drives the minibus to ensure housebound older people can come to the centre and access the projects and groups.
 

Office and Lettings Manager 

Alyson Moore

Alyson joined Time and Talents at the end of July 2011. She has over 16 years experience of working in the Voluntary and Community sector having previously worked at London Voluntary Service Council. Alyson also worked for 8 years in a Social Services department of a London Borough Council.

Premises Officer

Devon Goodrich

Devon has worked at Time and Talents since May 2010 and previously worked for the Refugee Council and as a builder. He is responsible for the day-to-day running of the premises, dealing with hall hirers and keeps the building and grounds maintained to a high standard.
