Neighbourhood care scheme for older people
The neighbourhood care scheme is an older people’s project that includes a befriending service for housebound people. This provides social support and gives people who would otherwise be housebound the chance to have a befriending volunteer who will visit for one hour a week in their home or at a community venue such as a trip to the local shopping centre.
Neighbourhood care scheme users also have access to our other services and activities which include the Stroke club for members and their carers; the Over 60’s, an older people’s group as well as the Visually impaired group and an older gentleman’s group.
All these groups are run from the Time and Talents centre based at the Old Mortuary St Marychurch Street SE16 4JE.
