The thing about Halloween is, Trick or Treating used to be a good way for neighbours to get to know each other. We don’t mean egging each other’s houses, we mean taking your little kids round door to door and saying hello. It was a sign people felt safe in their neighbourhood. That’s why we started having an an annual Halloween party – kids, families, and everyone, else, can dress up, eat so many sweets they feel sick, and get to know the neighbours. And nobody’s house has to get egged.
What a fab party this year. And we managed not to let the monsters eat anyone (well, not anyone we like)….
