Accessible Chair Yoga is a gentle, supportive practice designed for everyone, including older adults and those with mobility challenges. Using a chair for stability, we move through stretches, breathing exercises, and simple movements that improve flexibility, posture, balance, and overall well-being.
Every movement is adaptable, so you can work safely at your own pace. Beyond the physical benefits, this class is a warm, welcoming space to meet others, share a moment of connection, and feel a sense of community and belonging. We laugh in every class, because joy is just as important as movement. This inclusive approach helps improve flexibility, posture, and circulation while easing tension and calming the mind.
You’ll leave feeling more grounded, relaxed, and connected, not just to your body, but to the people around you.

What if you’re new to Chair Yoga?
These sessions are open to everyone, no matter where you are on your Chair Yoga journey. Many of our attendees use wheelchairs, and the exercises can be completed from the comfort of your chair.
What if you’ve done Chair Yoga before?
Our instructor will ensure the class is modified to your needs where possible.
What if I’m in a wheelchair?
We have many participants joining us in wheelchairs. Have a chat with Bella when you arrive to make her aware of any physical limitations so she can support you and provide alternative movements where needed.
How do I pay for the classes?
After the session, you can pay for the class with either cash or card. If you’d like to pre-pay for a block of sessions, we can arrange a bank transfer. Please reach out to finance@timeandtalents.org.uk to set this up. We also have free spaces available for anyone who needs them.
Do I need to book in advance?
No. Our classes operate on a drop-in system. Please bear in mind that, occasionally, we may not have space for you in the class as there is limited room in the hall. However, this doesn’t happen often.
How old do I need to be to attend these classes?
You must be 18 or older to access our Chair Yoga classes.
Bella Maldener

Hi, my name is Bella. I’m a yoga and wellness facilitator, Reiki Master, and teacher of aerial yoga and sound healing, and I’ve been part of the Rotherhithe community for six wonderful years. I love bringing people together through movement, mindfulness, and connection, creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, no matter your experience or background. My classes blend fun, laughter, and relaxation, supporting each other as we grow stronger, calmer, and more connected together. Everybody is welcome as I design the class around your needs.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
