A part-time post, with remote working, the Fundraiser will work closely with the Director and Management Team to meet challenging income targets.
This post will play a vital role in strengthening our capacity as a community hub to continue to deliver high impact high quality programmes.
What we do
Time & Talents is a lively, busy community hub in the heart of Rotherhithe, London. Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 134 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with children and families’ programmes and a range of volunteering projects. We are at an exciting stage of development. Our income has grown substantially in recent years and this growth has enabled us to develop our programmes and activities to reduce loneliness and social isolation in the local community by supporting more older adults, children and families.
In this role, you will:
Write well-crafted, exceptional quality funding applications to trusts and foundations
Develop ongoing cases for support for the organisation and in specific programme areas
Research funders and develop a strong pipeline of opportunities
Project manage bid writing including the contributions of others
Report to donors on outcomes
Contribute to the development of a fundraising strategy to meet income targets
Most importantly, you must be a superb writer, highly skilled in crafting compelling cases for support. You must be able to demonstrate experience of writing successful bids for substantial amounts alone (as the sole writer), and with others contributing. You must have strong empathy with our cause and the mission of our organisation, and an understanding of the life of a small charity. We need somebody who is friendly and positive, who takes responsibility, and who is highly organised and skilled in multitasking and balancing priorities.
We are an energetic, experienced, and passionate team of 18, with a strong sense of shared purpose, an informal culture and a lively sense of humour. We also insist on a very high level of diligence and professionalism in our work. You’ll have the chance to make a big contribution to a growing, ambitious and innovative organisation which has doubled its reach and impact in recent years.
This role is part-time and based remotely, although you will need to be able to travel to our office in Rotherhithe regularly for face-to-face meetings.
Time & Talents is wholly committed to inclusion and diversity, and to building a culture and environment where everyone is appreciated for the unique person that they are. We actively encourage applications from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
The closing date is 18:00 on 15th January.
Interviews will take place in the weeks commencing 24th and 31st January.
TO APPLY: All applications to be submitted online via CharityJob. Send a CV and a cover letter of no more than two sides of A4, explaining why you want the job and addressing how your experience and skills meet the person specification.
IMPORTANT: We’ll use cover letters to assess applications alongside CVs. Please ensure you take the time to include a well-written cover letter as detailed above. We won’t assess applications without one. First stage interviews will include a short test (30 minutes) asking you to write a funder pitch for a project to demonstrate your writing skills.
