We launched lots of new regular activities as part of our Kids & Families and Adult Programmes in January, and we’ve been delighted to welcome lots of new people through our doors as a result. The more the merrier (within reason!) so here’s an introduction to our brilliant team of new tutors in order of sessions through the week, please drop us a line if you’d like to join in!
Please note that all classes listed below may still not be happening – please check our calendar for updated listings: https://www.timeandtalents.org.uk/events
Janice White
Janice is a qualified Yoga Therapist specialising in delivering yoga and mindfulness for better mental health. She studied with The Minded Institute whose training integrates traditional yoga and meditation with cutting-edge scientific knowledge and research, exploring how yoga and mindfulness can combine with psychotherapeutic techniques to treat the whole individual. Since qualifying, Janice has acted as a supervisor to students undertaking the 550-hour yoga therapy training with The Minded Institute. She is a regular teacher of the Yoga for the Mind 8-week course developed by Heather Mason, founder of Minded, as well as offering one-to-one yoga therapy. She is particularly interested in how yoga and mindfulness can be used to combat stress in the workplace, having developed a 6-week programme, based on Minded Yoga principles that can be taken into corporate settings.
Janice is also a qualified yoga teacher and has taught in studios, complementary health centres and private settings since 2010. She is the holder of a Master’s Degree in Yoga & Meditation Traditions from SOAS University of London.
Alongside yoga, Janice manages an arts marketing consultancy which helps her to understand the challenges faced by others, living and working in the wonderful, but often stressful city of London. Janice’s Mindfulness class at T&T has already made a huge difference to the people who attend, who really enjoy her lovely calm, kind and friendly personality, and accessible teaching methods.

Joel has come to us through GoodGym, a charity which organises group runs with volunteers to local organisations that need help completing tasks like shovelling earth for community gardens, planting trees or clearing derelict land, and run back all within 90 minutes. As well as being very nice, Joel is a qualified Group exercise instructor (Circuits, kettle bells, Vipr), Running Coach (CiRF& LiTF), Personal Trainer (REPs level 3 equivalent) and has a Degree in Sport and Exercise Science. She also has great taste in music, and plays some wonderful playlists at T&T which we all appreciate!

Lizzie Hawes
Lizzie first started teaching dance-based classes as a tutor assistant at DanceEast. She did so well that soon she was leading classes, and she’s now studying for a diploma in community dance at Laban. As well as being a talented dancer, Lizzie sings and acts, and brings all of these elements into her playful sessions with children and their grownups. Lizzie is our resident fairy and brings joy to everyone she meets at T&T. We’d ask what she puts in her coffee, but she’s normally just sipping on hot water! She also volunteers on our Cycling Without Age project, giving trishaw rides to local isolated older people.
