Having worked in the voluntary/charity sector for many years (and 20 of these in Southwark), I was keen to become a Trustee but not for just any organisation. When I saw the advert for Trustees at Time & Talents, I just knew it was the organisation I wanted to be a Trustee for. I really admire and support its mission that everyone should be part of their community regardless of their age, background, disability or health issues.

I am delighted to be a Trustee of Time & Talents, at the centre of the community I’ve been part of for over eight years. I’ve seen first hand the impact T&T can make in bringing people together, and it is a privilege to contribute to the charity’s objectives.

I became a Trustee with Time & Talents as I’m interested in learning more about how a charity works and it was a way for me to support a charity by using all the HR knowledge I have gained from my role at Tideway.

A native of New York City and with extensive international experience, having lived and worked in Germany, Greece and Poland, I’m a Human Resources executive with experience spanning two decades. I have a keen passion for helping organisations harness the power of their people by establishing forward-thinking HR agendas to enable growth. I’m honoured to serve as a Time & Talents Trustee as it gives me the opportunity to give back to the local community which gives me so much joy.

Susan Lower

My career spans 16 years in the energy industry, predominantly focused on accelerating the energy transition towards net zero (GHG) emissions. I’m currently leading the global grants & subsidies division within Shell’s Low Carbon Solutions business, supporting technologies such as hydrogen, biofuels, and carbon capture & storage (ccs). I’m a Chartered Management Accountant with a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Imperial College London.

As a previous beneficiary of T&T’s services and current carer of an older disabled neighbour, I have first-hand understanding and appreciation of the invaluable role that T&T plays in the community, especially in reducing isolation and supporting vulnerable people. I am proud and honoured to be a part of this wonderful charity with its long legacy of support in Southwark.

I’ve been exploring trustee roles for a while, keen to find one that I felt a real connection to the organisation’s purpose. When I discovered Time & Talents, and learned about the difference it makes in our community, I was instantly drawn to it. I’m proud to be a Trustee, contributing to the ongoing work of such a valued and vibrant organisation.

I’m a CIMA-qualified accountant with over 10 years of post-qualification experience, primarily in the Media and Advertising sectors. I was keen to find a local charity where I could put my skills to good use, and having previously enjoyed Time & Talents through my daughter’s birthday party and her time attending children’s activities, so I was delighted to see this opportunity arise. I’m excited to contribute to the fantastic work that Time & Talents continues to do for our community.
