How we are funded
Each year, Time & Talents has to raise every penny of the funds it uses to help our community. We don’t have substantial investments, nor any endowments, and we do not own the buildings we use. Like many settlements, we had to sell our property in the 1980s, and our Old Mortuary headquarters has been rented from the Council ever since. On average, only around 10-20% of our funding comes from the public sector.
We raise a small proportion of our funds by renting our spaces to community groups and individuals, through small charges for a handful of our activities, and from our annual places in the London Marathon. We are hugely grateful to the donations we receive from local people, big and small. We are also lucky to be supported in kind, and sometimes with donations, by businesses who share our aim of improving the lives of people in the local community.
Beyond this, we rely on a wide range of like-minded trusts and foundations, who make grants to Time & Talents that help us create a place for fun, friendship, and mutual support, and a happier, healthier community.
