 Our Vision

A world where everyone feels part of a community

Our Mission

At Time & Talents our mission is to:

  • Increase the happiness and wellbeing of everyone in our community
  • Make sure no-one has to feel lonely, isolated or excluded, especially those most in need
  • Help people feel active, engaged and empowered
  • Build a strong sense of place, shared experience, and shared social capital
  • Help people help each other, by sharing their time and talents

Our Strategy

We deliver targeted services for those most in need in our community, and universal activities which work to bring all parts of our community together.

We deliver this through:

  • Groups to foster social relationships
  • Individual support for people in need
  • Activities to develop talents, confidence, skills
  • Projects to empower and improve our local community
  • Events to bring everyone together
  • Opportunities to help others and to get involved
  • Space for community activities

Our Core Beliefs

  • ‘Community’ doesn’t just happen, and communities have to work hard to make sure no-one is excluded
  • That connected people are happier, healthier, people
  • That people are happiest when they’re able to help others, and to receive help in return
  • That place matters, and people need to feel genuinely involved in the place they live.
  • That settlements are a powerful force for positive change – and the Settlement Movement is more relevant than ever
  • That threads of shared culture, identity, history – and most of all, fun! -bring people together

Our Values

We are:

Inclusive and empowering

Caring and supportive

Responsive and creative

Dynamic and resourceful

This means that members of the public are not allowed to enter the Old Mortuary building or use the toilet.

We know that this is a hugely difficult time for our community, and we continue to do everything in our power to support our users and wider community.
