At Time & Talents, we run lots of outdoor activities, clubs and events because we know how important getting outside is for our physical and mental health. In addition to our mindfulness and exercise classes, we run a whole range of outdoor groups for adults and children, including activities suitable for people with disabilities. Our Old Mortuary building in Rotherhithe is surrounded by beautiful green space, and we also have our own gardens for teaching, learning, growing and playing.

Whether you like the sound of walking, gardening, playing sport, learning about nature, or taking photos, why not come along and join us for some fun and fresh air? Getting outside with others is great for your wellbeing, and a brilliant way to learn new skills and make new friends. Read on to find out what we have to offer, and for more details go to:

Walking groups

For those who want to stretch their legs and explore the hidden streets and lovely green spaces of Rotherhithe, we run Let’s Go For a Walk every week. It’s easy-going and open to all adults – no need to be super fit or speedy! So why not come along, stretch your legs a little, and discover something new?

If you’re keen on photography, you might enjoy our walking and photography group Snap & Chat (for men aged 55+). We choose interesting areas in London, go for a wander, and take some pictures. It’s a really enjoyable way to explore new places – or revisit familiar ones – while getting outdoors, getting creative, and feeling part of the local community.

Get gardening!

For the green-fingered – or anyone who fancies trying a bit of gardening – our teaching gardens are the perfect place to learn, develop your skills, or simply relax with friends old and new. Our beautiful Secret Garden at the Old Mortuary is a hidden gem: a walled community garden where we grow fruit and vegetables. We pick and eat the food we grow together, which gives everyone involved a real sense of achievement – as well as being very tasty!

If you like the idea of getting outside and doing some planting, our Green Team Gardening Group is open to everyone – from age 18 to 118. Whether you’re a keen gardener or you’ve never grown a plant in your life, we welcome everyone who wants to join in with some digging, planting, pruning or picking. There’s always plenty of tea-drinking, pottering about and chatting too.

Outdoor fun and learning for kids

We know how much children love learning and playing in the great outdoors. Our Little Bugs Nature Club is a fun and creative gardening group for little ones and their parents. Kids aged 1-5 can get their hands nice and muddy as they explore our Secret Garden, having a go at gardening and making friends along the way.

For slightly older kids (6-11) we run our Forest School, where they have the opportunity to learn about the natural world around them through fun, hands-on activities.

Keeping active and making friends

At Time & Talents we know how easy it is to feel lonely, and to get out of the habit of doing exercise or sport – especially since Covid-19 stopped so many of our normal activities.

If you’d like to get moving more, but could do with a bit of friendly support and encouragement, our Get Active Befriending project can link you up with a local befriender. You meet up with them for about an hour a week, and try out a new activity or sport together – no pressure, just a chance to do something new (or get back into something you used to enjoy) in good company. Why not give it a go?

Why not get outside with T&T today?
