Become a T&T Trustee

Leila was one of our past dynamic, dedicated trustees. She comes from a background in the media, and as well as acting as a Board member for 3 years, also ran the London marathon for T&T in 2016!

Trustee Recruitment

Time & Talents is currently inviting applications for trustees. Time & Talents is at an exciting stage in its development, as we look at expansion both of our longstanding older people’s services, and into a wider range of community focused services to help us increase our impact and move with the changing demographics and needs of the local area. This is an opportunity for enthusiastic, positive people to continue to work with a small, agile, dynamic, forward-facing charity of 130 years’ standing, to shape and increase its positive impact on Southwark for the next few years. We encourage trustee applications from any background, but are particularly seeking experience in the following professional areas:

Our current Treasurer is coming to the end of her term, and we are now seeking a new treasurer to help us develop a more strategic approach to finance in a fast-growing, and rapidly changing organisation. We need to go beyond the day to day book-keeping and statutory accounting and start to be able to understand our finances in a more strategic way. We need someone who can help us make better and more timely decisions about how we invest, sustain, and structure our scarce but growing resources.

We especially welcome trustees from the local area, but this is not a requirement. The commitment is a minimum of 4 Board meetings per year in the evenings (2 hours each). Trustees may choose to sit on one of our committees, such as our finance committee, which meets virtually before each Board meeting. We also have an annual strategy meeting on a Saturday.

During the national lockdown, all face to face activities, groups and home visits are suspended.

The safety and wellbeing of our employees, volunteers and users remains our priority and we continue to reduce risk of transmission and ensure that unnecessary risks are not taken. This means that members of the public are not allowed to enter the Old Mortuary building or use the toilet.

The team is working as usual and we continue to adapt our services and activities so that we can work safely to support our community.
