Long-term Bermondsey local Charlie Moore is another of the fantastic runners supporting Time & Talents by taking on the 2021 London Marathon. We asked him what motivated him to tackle the famous run, and why he picked us to fundraise for, and he said it’s down to our “commitment to the lonely and vulnerable in our community”. He explained that he feels a deep connection to the SE16 community, having lived in Bermondsey for almost 20 years and worked in the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe area for even longer.
Originally from Northern Ireland, Charlie has been Rector of St Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey since 2002. He’s not a first-time marathon-er, having first taken on the London Marathon in 2007, and done it again in 2019. He confessed that training has been hard in the heat of summer this year, but: “it will be worth it when, all being well, I cross the Finish Line on 3rd October knowing that the money raised is going to a really good cause.”
Brilliant work Charlie, and very best of luck to you for a great London Marathon 2021!
