When keen runner Dave Barnett signed up for the London Marathon, he wanted to fundraise for a community organisation. Having worked in Bermondsey and Southwark for the past nine years, he wanted to support somewhere that, as he says, “doesn’t have the big budgets of other, better-known charities”.
The work Time & Talents does in the local community really struck a chord with him, and he summed up his motivations nicely: ‘the challenge of running the London Marathon and raising money for such a great community-based charity was the perfect match.”

Meanwhile, Rob Harris also has connections with our wonderful SE16: he used to live around Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, so he knows the area well. Running the London Marathon has been an ambition for ages. He told us, “it has been on my bucket list since we lived there and used to support the runners coming through, and with the years passing by it seems like now or never!”
Rob’s choice of T&T as his fundraising charity was due to the work we do to, as he put it, “touch upon and enhance many local residents’ lives”. We’re grateful for his efforts, and excited to see him on 3rd October.

T&T will be here at mile 12, rooting for you both right through to mile 26.2!
