T&T’s super London Marathon runners – meet Liv Hawe

Liv Hawe is one of our fabulous London Marathon runners this year, and she’ll be taking on the 26.2-mile route through the streets of the capital on 3rd October 2021 to raise money for Time & Talents.

When we asked her recently, she told us her marathon training was a huge source of support to her over the last year. In her own words: “it was running and my community of friends and family who kept me sane…! So I’m stoked to be fundraising for Time & Talents.” We’re pretty excited too, and we’ll be willing her on every step of the way!

Liv is no running newbie, having started with cross-country at school, where she was encouraged by supportive PE teachers. That positive experience as a teenager started a now 15-year-long love affair with running, though, even with that many years’ experience under her belt, she says, “the London Marathon is a challenge I can’t quite believe I’m attempting!” Throughout the difficult times – and particularly the lockdowns – of the past year and a half, running has been very important to Liv, for both her mental and physical health. Her partner James is also running the marathon, so they’ve supported each other in their training and had, “a funny year of running through lockdowns, snow, rain, blazing sun and everything in between.”

As for her decision to fundraise for T&T, Liv told us: “I’m so happy to be raising money for Time & Talents, because the work you do is so inspiring – I hope the money raised helps others feel energised and part of a community.” We couldn’t agree more.

Bring on 3rd October; we’ll be cheering you on Liv!
