There’s nothing like a good walk for the body and the soul, so why not strap on your shoes and come walking with us every Thursday? As well as exploring the local area, you’ll enjoy great chats, and we even finish off with a cup of tea at a local cafe, it’s our shout.

Our group goes at the pace of the slowest walker, so whatever your ability, we invite you to come along and get your steps in.

“This walk has got me out of the house and feeling like myself again. We always have a good laugh!” – Walk & Talk attendee.

Frequently asked questions about our Walk & Talk walking group

What if it’s your first time coming along?

We look forward to welcoming you. If you arrive around 10:15 am, then we can get you registered and you can chat with Keith about any questions you may have.

What if it’s raining?

We walk whatever the weather, but you can always skip a week if you like. Otherwise, pop on your jacket and your boots, and we’ll see you at the usual meeting place.

I haven’t exercised in a while. Will I be ok to join?

Absolutely! We walk at an easy pace and regularly stop to admire different buildings, wildlife, and historic sites. You’re free to leave at any time if you feel like you want to.

Do I need to book in advance?

No. Just drop in whenever you can.

How old do I need to be to attend these walks?

You need to be 18 or older to join our Walk & Talk sessions.

Our Walk & Talk sessions are partially funded by Sport England.

Keith Turpin

Keith Turpin profile picture Facilitator of Walk & Talk walking group at Time & Talents

My association with Time and Talents dates from 2022, firstly as a volunteer and more recently as the Walk & Talk – Walking Group Leader. I am a lifelong Londonphile who had the good fortune, after taking early retirement, to take a course in London Studies at QMUL and to train as a London guide (with the Camden Tour Guides Association, and courses in Southwark and Tower Hamlets). I am particularly interested in Victorian London, its literature and social history.

Passionate about South London, I  have also been a volunteer guide at the nearby Brunel Museum since 2016.
